McDonald's Won't Say The Grandma McFlurry Flavor  

Although the flavor of McDonald's most recent McFlurry is much the same as previous versions, with hints of sugar and vanilla soft  

The Grandma McFlurry's flavoring is described on the company website as "smooth, sweet syrup" (instead of the lumpy, bitter kind?  

combined with chopped candies of an undisclosed kind that are however claimed to be "reminiscent of grandma's favorite treat."  

Apart from the obvious ageism and sexism that accompany linking this McFlurry to the entire "Grandma's candy jar"  

If McDonald's is utilizing non-Werther's branded chocolates, then one X user theorizes that the reason they are adopting the "grandma" appellation  

they do not have the legal right to use the Werther's name. Whether the Grandma McFlurry flavor is actually caramel or butterscotch, and whether there is much of a difference between the two  

No one really agreed on anything, but everyone seems to agree that the Grandma Flurry flavor isn't just caramel (or butterscotch).
