Pizza Hut Expands Its Menu With Eight Toppings And A New Pizza Style

Big news for the pizza chain industry comes from Pizza Hut. The eatery recently debuted a new Chicago-tavern-style pizza

In addition to being the first pizza chain to serve this distinctive Chicago-style pizza, information provided to Mashed

indicates that this is also the largest update to the pizza brand's toppings menu in over ten years.

Although Pizza Hut already offered Detroit-style pizza, the company is currently expanding to new cities.

A particular kind of pizza found in the area is referred to as "tavern-style" because of its incredibly thin crust and generous topping application .

The main attraction of this pizza is its small, square pieces, which are perfect for sharing at bars with big groups of people.

The reason the word "tavern" seems a little archaic is that Chicago taverns from the 1930s are where this pie's origins can be traced.
